Heroes

Humanity contends with multiple incipient threats thereof each of an existential magnitude in conjunction with rapidly deteriorating economic conditions in the wake of a global pandemic whereby 750,000 lives have been claimed in just the United States alone—including broken supply chains used by prescription drug companies, a healthcare industry being quickly exhausted of its resources, and an increasingly sick population.

Why am I so angry? This is backward thinking. Anger is presently the most rational mental state given the current set of conditions, whereof one of the conditions is a significant percentage of the general population willfully ignorant of these conditions and therefore unwilling to act. However, this percentage of the population constitutes a majority and therefore controls 100% of the population by exerting control over its political institutions that allow for passive participation in the name of “freedom”, thereby passively imposing the ignorance of the majority as will of the majority onto the entire population, consequences be damned.

In other words, the social order is broken and is now itself an existential threat to humanity. This is as factual as “factual” holds all meaning. What you, the reader, must decide is what you are going to do knowing this fact. You can no longer trust the thinking of your peers and I cannot stress this enough. I know this of itself sounds absurd, but trusting your peers is an intrinsic feature of the problem. The natural inclination is to stop, take a deep breath, and tell oneself that if all of this were such a huge problem, then more people would be talking about it, panicking, and the authorities would do something about it; and therefore, I, the writer, must be crazy, right?

The problem with this pathology is that it is the problem. This is the mechanism whereby our social institutions have been rendered obsolete. In some sense, we must fight against our social instincts because right now they are largely working against us. Unfortunately, social media obscures this problem by design beneath multilayered algorithms and simplistic user interfaces, thus exacerbating the problem. Yes, algorithms are but math possessed of no inherent will of their own per se, but you are the input data that affects output—this is to say, every single keystroke into practically any device or application linked to social media “feeds the beast”, so to speak. The delusions of society thus become perpetuated and exacerbated exponentially, meaning the more everyone is in denial, the more this fact becomes obscured, and this is writ large across society in all that we do.

Unfortunately, this means the vast majority of you are a threat and will hopelessly remain a threat. You are a threat not only to my life, but to the very existence of humanity and all other life on this planet. I wish I were exaggerating, because to defy the overwhelming, unthinking will of the majority is often to invite ridicule, be ostracized, be marginalized, and worse. The tale of Galileo Galilee comes to mind, but scarcely do I have time to romanticize the heroes of history these days.

All readers of this post who are content to ignore it by going about their lives per usual should count themselves among this threat and should consider this a warning. For one to do nothing implies my life means nothing; it implies the lives of my family and friends mean nothing; indeed, it implies that life, itself, means nothing—for all the implications of doing nothing. Anyone choosing to do nothing should be considered hostile to life and not an innocent bystander in all of this. They are an enemy for all practical intents and purposes. I do not choose my language carelessly. This is a war against ignorance and the most destructive force on the planet—humanity—and we are in race against time. Humanity, by decree of the majority, has chosen anthropocentrism over life, itself. It is a biological fact that anthropocentrism is unsustainable, thence humanity has chosen death, and death be the antithesis of life.

None can deny this. These are simply the existential facts of the matter. Should one dismiss me as crazy, I implore readers to yet again look at the facts: humanity continues to brazenly ignore its most pressing problems. This is not unsubstantiated nonsense—everyone can see it. Most of the unthinking majority stay so far removed from these problems, immersed in entertainment and inundated with propaganda, that this entire blog post probably sounds alarmingly conspiratorial, despite having access to all of the information ever recorded right at its fingertips. I should only need point to the year 2020 to make the case that something must be done. Are we to leave the fate of the world in the hands of the unthinking majority who scarcely understand the technology they hold in the palm of their hand? This would be an insult to human intelligence, and on pain of humiliation or death, I refuse to do so.

Say what you will, but we can no longer abide the social order—as I said, it is broken and it will inevitably doom us, if not now then certainly later. The time is now. The new world order is to defy order—disorder—for order resigns us to the fate of extinction, thus is chaos the solution. Though, fear not my words, for they are not as extreme as one might take them to be at a superficial inference. Our very souls are but made of the stuff of chaos. As Carl Sagan once said, “We are made of star stuff”, and each of our chaotic souls shall one day be returned to the eternal Chaos, but let us hope that day is not this day, nor this era.

It is not lost on me that one might accuse me of having quite the imagination and therefore dismiss my words, but this to me is only a compliment, for imagination is the sum total of consciousness in all its cosmic glory—the greatest gift bestowed upon life by evolution thus far—and I think we do ourselves a grave disservice now more than ever by not relying on this gift. So, let us do so, and let us also remember to take a little time every now and again to romanticize our heroes that one day we may no longer have need of them.
